Previously located in Norfolk, Virginia, the Contact Center moved to Chicago in 2009. That same year, the Sales and Guest Services Internship was created, and 25 interns joined the company for the Summer. In the following years, the internship program grew by over 50% and expanded to include the intern projects and networking sessions, including Meet and Greet presentations with members of the executive team. Since 2013, the internship program has hosted an average of 56 interns per summer. In 2016, the Contact Center saw its largest and most diverse intern class with 65 students from 16 colleges across the country. Below is a snapshot of the 2016 Internship Statistics.

The cohesiveness of an intern class is vital to the success of the program. This reason is why the Management Staff recruits and carefully combs through applicants. In 2016, there were over 850 resumes submitted to the program, and of those submissions, nearly 250 completed the online application process. When the program began in May, 65 students accepted the internship offer and joined Entertainment Cruises for the Summer.

Entertainment Cruises is constantly seeking ways to continually improve, and the Sales and Guest Services Internship Program is no different. At the end of each Summer, interns are presented with an anonymous survey about the program so that they may provide constructive feedback about their experience and the ways in which the program might improve for future interns. The Management Staff reviews the survey responses carefully and revises the program accordingly.
