Throughout the year, the Contact Center hosts a variety of fun in-office events, as well as summer outings – also known as OSS Outings. In-office events have included holiday sweater parties, Olympic sales competitions and tailgate potlucks, just to name a few. (The potlucks are infamous!) During the summer, year-round employees and interns enjoy a double-decker bus tour of Chicago, as well as a Seadog cruise along the Chicago river and on Lake Michigan.

Office festivities and OSS Outings give interns the opportunity to meet and spend time with the management staff and year-round employees. Over the years, many interns develope long-lasting friendships with current employees and interns from other colleges throughout the Midwest. Read what Paige Keough, 2014 Sales and Guest Services Intern, had to say about OSS Outings and check out OSS Outing photos below, or view the photo gallery pages.

I loved the intern outings because it gave all of us a chance to get to know everyone outside the work environment. Not only did all of us interns have great professional relationships but these fun outings helped build our personal relationships as well which helped us be able to work together much more cohesively. The first outing we were offered was a double decker to see our wonderful city with food provided by Cheesies! Then we went out on the Seadog with the entire contact center and were able to experience Chicago at night on the river. Without these outings, this internship would have been much different, and I feel like I definitely would not have gotten to know everyone as well as I did. I feel like I gained so much more than just work experience with this internship, like long lasting friendships, and most of that is due to the various outings we had!
