Welcome to the Entertainment Cruises Sales and Guest Services Internship website. Since its founding in 2009, the Contact Center has hosted over 300 Sales and Guest Service Interns. In fact, the internship program has grown over 50% since its initial class of interns, generally hosting between 50 and 60 interns per summer.

While the internship offers a wide variety of experiences and opportunities, the program focuses on five key components: Sales; Guest Services; Company Culture; Networking; and, Intern Projects. These aspects allow students to learn more about the corporate environment while honing skills to use during the remainder of their college years and beyond.

Past Sales and Guest Services Interns have noted that the experience gained at Entertainment Cruises has been invaluable to their academic coursework. Mary Bittner, 2014 Sales and Guest Services Intern, writes how her acquired sales skills affected her Senior Thesis research project: “Although I was no longer “selling” anything, I used the sales skills that I had developed through my time at EC to convince [Norwegian] residents to discuss their feelings about the ’94 Olympic Games and the mega-sporting event’s effect on the Norwegian inland region with a random American student for her research project.” Read more of Mary’s testimonial.

The skills acquired during the Sales and Guest Services Internship also benefited interns when applying for jobs after college. Many interns use their experience as a platform for interview answers. For instance, Jake Thiel, 2014 Sales and Guest Services Intern, leveraged his experiences and sales skills to answer an interviewer’s questions: “I talked about all the skills I gained and how I had a vast knowledge in sales because of my experiences. I even sold the head recruiter on a romance package on the Odyssey after he asked what would be a good package for his anniversary with his wife.” Read more of Jake’s testimonial.

Entertainment Cruises also offers other summer and off-season internships, including the Chicago Front of House Rotational Internship. Since it was founded in 2005, the Front of House Rotational Internship has hosted nearly 500 interns, with an average of 50 to 60 interns per summer. Students who are looking to gain invaluable professional experience in the fields of business, sales, communications and hospitality are encouraged to apply for the internship that suits their interests.
